David, thank you so much for your hard work and creativity!! I am a NOVICE at my smartphone. I have a question that is going to seem silly I am sure.. but I downloaded Bubbles.. and have NO clue WHERE to put the files. You tell wonderful instructions on how to take care of problems AFTER the install, but HOW do you install the program. I have MUCH learning to do. Thank you in advance!!

Try the Download link in the post again .. i’ve updated it to take you directly to the SMS Bubbles download page — before you had to click on the Download link on Saman’s web site.
Thanks

This app is NICE, i got tired of havin to go to my messeges to read all of my text, so thanx for the app much appreciated.
June 23rd, 2008 at 8:42 pm
Holy crap. this is the one thing i didn’t like about my blackjack. i hated having to go to messages everytime i got a text. this solved the problem perfectly. thank you sooooo much
June 25th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
By far the most useful application for my Blackjack so far. Until someone comes out with something that cooks me breakfast, this will likely be my favorite for a while.
July 23rd, 2008 at 8:36 pm
I love this app… but david, do you know of a timer utility tool…because ive been looking for a timer (like the opp of a stop watch) because i really need one.
July 25th, 2008 at 6:04 am
there is a stopwatch under the “organizer” file.
July 25th, 2008 at 9:20 pm
dan,
im assuming you mean something like an “egg timer” .. im not sure. try posting in the Forums under Applications and see if anyone knows
August 3rd, 2008 at 5:42 pm
Works great – thanks! Now, if you could only come up with something that allows for a running text message display. Meaning, if I send you a text and you reply, my original message is not there — just your reply. That is the one thing I do not like about the blackjack. Just converted from blackberry and miss some of its features, including that one…

if the phone is not unlocked will it have a difference cause mine isnt and i dont see ne thing wrong? that i know of
August 4th, 2008 at 7:54 am
jerdan5,
Nope – if SMSBubbles installs and pups up the notification box when you receive a text then it works. I wouldnt worry about — I mentioned you might have to app unlock your phone in the post because i read in some forums and on the developer’s site that you *may* .. apparently this is not the case all the time.
August 4th, 2008 at 8:02 am
Landshark, I think what youre talking about is Threaded SMS/Text messages. Yup – i agree. There are a couple commercial product that do this (i dont know how well they do i though) .. The one that comes to mind is called ExtremeThread ($15 i think) .. If you can hold out for the Windows Mobile 6.1 Update that comes with Threaded Messaging built in (*should* be released sometime this year)
August 16th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
The sms bubble pops up as it should but when I hit the left soft key (SaveRead) the message goes away, not sure where? The SMS notification also shows no messages.
August 16th, 2008 at 9:49 pm
jmatsoc,
its working exactly as it should. SaveRead marks the message as Read and keeps it in your normal Messages list (where all your Text/SMS messages go). The SMS Notification shows no messags because you’ve read the message and marked it as such.

Thank you. Beautiful work on the site!

Were Exactly Do You Copy The Files, And Do They Have To Be In One Folder Or Not?
September 14th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
Hey all, I have a simple question and help would be appreciated.
So I get Multimedia messages that I like to keep (Mark as unread) I have 13 messages at all times. And when my bubble comes up, it just says you have 14 new messages (15, 16 etc) Is there a way to make it so it shows the newest message I get. say:
Timmy,
Hey man whats up?
instead of just 14 new messages?
September 15th, 2008 at 7:55 am
lilvolume – I dont think that is an option in SMSBubbles. Try e-mail the guy that created it at: saman@saman-cz.com … You might try donating a couple bucks to him to see if that greases the wheels any (even a $2-3 dollar donation will make you feel appreciated and more likely to give alittle more back) .. Click here to donate to SMS Bubbles.

The quickest and easiest way to download a CAB file is simple.
-download CAB file to a folder on your computer that you perfer
-after downloading locate CAB file on your computer and right click, scroll down to “send to”
-select _____’s smartphone documents
-let the computer sync the file to your BlackJack II
-now on your BJ II go to Start/File Explorer/My Device/My Documents/
-then select your CAB file you wish to install and install

I apologize, I meant the quickest and easiest way to download and install a CAB file. Downloading a CAB file doesn’t require instructions. Sorry and hope everyone enjoys their BJ II’s.

hello david,
I have installed this app and i can see it in my start menu, but no bubbles pop up when i receive a txt……i was wondering …is something wrong in my setting or something?
September 30th, 2008 at 7:22 pm
alphasierra, Go to Programs > SMSBubbles Setting – Make sure “Show Bubbles” is selected.
Also – what version of Windows Mobile OS are you running?
October 1st, 2008 at 9:14 am
yea…i had selected “Show Bubbles” yet it didn’t work…..im using Windows Mobile 6.1..
October 1st, 2008 at 4:01 pm
alpha,
Try uninstalling and re-installing it .. it should work straight from the install without any changing of settings.
November 23rd, 2008 at 3:11 pm
i have the same issue alphasierra had.
i started with the program and it worked fine (other than occasionally erasing a message i was currently typing), but after i hard reset my phone it wouldnt work. it installs and i have all the settings correct but it still wont. i hard reset yet again and it STILL wont work! i miss my bubbles =(
any ideas?
December 9th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
hey david, thank you for everything, this app is amazing, one thing though: how would you change the color of the bubble that pops up? my default was green and i find myself unable to change it
December 10th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
n092307,
I believe the SMSBubbles pop-up color is tied to your color scheme, which you can change in Settings > Display > Home Screen.
December 11th, 2008 at 8:51 pm
thank you very much

GREAT app! Thanks!

Does anyone know a trick to select mulitple contacts when sending a text message without leaving the contacts page and having to come back. On my old razr, I could select person after person and then select done and that would send a message to all the people I selected. It takes me forever to insert via the middle button and scroll all the way through my list again and again. Thanks for the help!!

Hi,
Every time i recieve a text, i always forget what i said (Probably because it takes my freinds very long periods of time to respond), so i have to go back to the sent messages folder and check. By that time i have forgotten what they said. Needless to say this is very annoying
I was wondering if there was a way, during texting, to show the message you are replying to and or what you said before hand? (like the SMS application on the iphone).
Thanks

jakeBIHH, Upgrade your Blackjack II to Windows Mobile 6.1 … WM6.1 has threaded SMS messaging.

January 9th, 2009 at 9:11 pm
in the middle of creating a text a sms bubble new text came through and in my typing a menu screen came up informing me of the short cut keys 1 = save as read, 2 = reply, etc. but I can’t remember what the rest of the shortcuts were and I don’t even know how I got to that screen, since it came up just because I happened to by typing on my phone as a new text came in. Does anyone know what the shortcut keys are? And/or how to get that screen to come back?
TIA
January 12th, 2009 at 10:20 pm
This is the best thing ever! I hated hoping and seeing if I had any messages I love this!
January 18th, 2009 at 2:15 pm
Ps8612-
If you hit the 0/? key when you get a notification that menu will pop up.
The keyboard shortcuts menu:
1 – Save As Read
2 – Reply
3 – Delete
4 – Dismiss
5 – Call Sender
6 – View
I love this application, and once I found out that I could just hit 2 to reply- it became even better!

February 7th, 2009 at 11:21 am
meredith – not sure what you mean. Use of of the Application Unlockers listed on the site to unlock your phone.
March 2nd, 2009 at 5:47 pm
Hey I was just wondering if you could explain to me what some of the settings means.
Show DR bubble
Mark DR read
Delete DR
Show Number
Add Number type
Replace numbers in SMS
March 6th, 2009 at 1:12 pm
t7nguyen, DR stands for “Delivery Receipt” .. its a notification that confirms that the Text was delivered.
Show Number: Shows the persons phone number
Add Number type: not sure
Replace numbers in SMS: I believe this tries to replace phone numbers w contact names

April 5th, 2009 at 6:01 pm
This app wouldn’t break if I installed and then uninstalled the two thread SMS apps out there? Txtman and some other app.
April 6th, 2009 at 9:42 pm
BJIIuser – i dont think it would break – but ive never tried using Txtman or the other app youre talking about.
April 19th, 2009 at 3:02 am
sorry only one more question can i set it where instead of save/read inplace can be reply ?
cause when i click save and read… it like x’s it out and i have to go and click on the the icon…
May 11th, 2009 at 12:36 am
were do u put it under from ur compter
May 26th, 2009 at 6:07 pm
Overall the application is nice for slow texting. However if you are caught typing a text, often you will delete the incoming message via keyboard shortcut before you actually read it. This can be quite annoying to say the least. I recommend being able to remove the delete shortcut via GUI settings for future releases.

David,
–my new blackjack II will be coming in the mail soon. I am a T-mobile customer (I purchased a NEW …UNLOCKED.. pink blackjack II on ebay) ((I really wanted this phone)).
SO- My question is, I noticed that a lot of these downloads say “Windows Mobile 6.1 Compatable”…however, I won’t be having internet on my phone…so will I still be able to download these applications?…will they still work without internet?!
Very new to all of this, and my phone hasn’t even arrived yet. Please help! Thank you.
July 9th, 2009 at 4:51 pm
Hi, this may have been posted before but i’m a new user. Someone told me this app is FANTASTIC but I don’t have internet on my BJ 2. Can I download it to my pc and then transfer it to my phone via the USB cable?
Thanks,
Jessie
July 17th, 2009 at 2:23 pm
Kloogy, chances are your new Blackjack II will come with the upgraded Windows Mobile 6.1 Operating System. You can download the files form this site onto your computer and copy them to your blackjack II via ActiveSync (USB cable from your computer to your phone) if you dont have a data plan.

Help! i think somehow my phone was screwed up this utility. I use twitter and frequently get many texts. One night I left my phone on and the tweets kept coming until the morning. When I went to check out the my tweets in the form of texts, there was a large amount (somewhere around 25). When I clicked view, it brought me to the threads page and I check them. When I returned to the home screen, it still says I have unread messages. I don’t know how to fix it or reset the alerts.
October 23rd, 2009 at 2:54 pm
i clicked on the download part and it just keeps coming back to the same screen on ur site
December 15th, 2009 at 6:53 am

July 14th, 2010 at 10:33 pm
is this free?
August 29th, 2010 at 2:57 am
i know its been a while since this but i think what would be useful, to me at least, that if once the bubble pops up you press the center button, and it take you to the ‘view’ instead of having to press menu and scroll down to the other ‘view’
